Senior Mari Alvarez batted .455 with two home runs, six RBI, four runs, and a double to help the softball team earn a 3-1 record against Pacific Lutheran, securing their first series victory over the Lutes in over 35 years. In Saturday's first game of the weekend, Alvarez drove in an RBI single to give the Pioneers a 2-0 lead. On Sunday, she hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning of game one, extending Lewis & Clark's lead to 7-1. In the series finale, Alvarez sparked the Pioneers' comeback with a two-run homer, the 16th of her career, which currently places her sixth in program history. She also ranks in the top five for career RBIs (4th with 77) and hits (5th with 131).
