Kaui went 3-6 with two runs, three RBI and a pair of extra-base hits to help Softball open the season with a doubleheader sweep of Bushnell. The junior shortstop finished the day leading the team in hits (three) and extra-base hits (two) and tied for the team lead with two runs and three RBI. She got the offense going in both games. In the opener, Kaui’s two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth erased a 2-0 deficit in the Pioneers 4-3 win. She added an RBI double in the third inning of game two that kick started a six-running inning in Lewis & Clark’s 10-0 game two win. Â
