Susanna Anand went 4-1 in three duals over three days and saw a return to singles play for the women’s tennis team. On Sunday afternoon, Anand and doubles teammate Seraphina Vossen helped the Pioneers sweep the doubles matches against Whitworth with an 8-4 win at the No.1 spot. Anand followed that up with a win at No.1 singles, easily winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. On Monday evening, in a non-conference match against East Texas Baptist, Anand and Vossen again prevailed at No.1 doubles, this time in a tiebreak, winning 8-7 (7-0). Anand then split the first two sets at No.1 singles, winning the first 6-1 and falling 6-3. The third set 10-point tiebreak saw Anand facing an 8-3 deficit. She pulled within 10-9, then one the next three points to triumph 12-10 on an ace to secure the win.
