In the best week of her collegiate career, Maggie O’Leary appeared in five of the softball teams' eight games last week, helping the team go 6-2 overall and 4-2 in NWC games. She posted a 2-1 record with a 3.02 ERA in 16.2 innings with only nine hits and seven runs and struck out 22. O’Leary closed out the second game against Pacific Lutheran on Monday, pitching one inning, with no hits against three batters in the 12-5 Pios win. She pitched four more no-hit innings against Warner Pacific on Wednesday to earn her first win of the week, posting a combined shutout in a game in which the nights were no-hit for 6.2 innings. On Thursday, she pitched 2.1 scoreless relief innings in a 5-3 win over Pacific and notched her second win of the week. O’Leary came in for relief during game two against George Fox, pitching 6.2 innings and striking out a career-high 12 batters. It was the most strikeouts by a Pioneer pitcher since at least 2012 and is tied for the second-most by an NWC pitcher this spring. She started the week with 7.1 hitless and scoreless innings and ran the scoreless streak to 9.2.
