Sophomore Jordan Lahusky opened Saturday’s home football game against #6/8 Linfield with an 85-yard kickoff return to give the Pioneers the best possible start against the Wildcats. Lahusky received the ball just inside the Pios’ 15-yard line and ran straight up the near sideline, using his speed to break through a Lindfield hole. He raced past the kicker down the near hash for the 85-yard score. It was the first return for a touchdown by a Pioneer since an 84-yard kickoff return by Desmon Holton on October 9, 2021, against Pacific Lutheran. Lewis & Clark has not had a kick return for a touchdown in the first quarter since at least 2011. Lahusky also completed eight rushes for 15 yards during the game. Linfield avoided kicking the ball to Lahusky for the rest of the afternoon.
