NEWBERG, Ore. — Lewis & Clark College women's soccer earned its fourth draw of the season Sunday afternoon, playing host George Fox University to a 0-0 tie at the Austin Sports Complex in Northwest Conference action.

THE BASICS

Lewis & Clark 0, George Fox 0
(Lewis & Clark 3-9-4, 3-6-3 NWC)
(George Fox 0-9-7, 0-8-5 NWC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

After a quiet first half that saw George Fox take all seven shots, Lewis & Clark controlled the tempo after intermission and produced seven attempts to finish even overall. The Pioneers held 55% of possession and earned six second-half corner kicks, applying steady pressure throughout the final 45 minutes.

Senior midfielder Carli Driskill led the offense with two shots on goal, both stopped by George Fox goalkeeper Marisa Lam in the 56th and 66th minutes. Juniors Grace Smith, Mischa Vanek and Iris Stutzman, sophomore Ava Lazzara, and first-year Riley Yip each added one shot as Lewis & Clark's midfield pushed higher after halftime.

The best scoring chance came in the 73rd minute when Lazzara's low strike forced Lam into her third save. Smith and Stutzman both sent late efforts wide as the Pioneers searched for a winner.

Senior goalkeeper Anna Ingadottir anchored the defense with two saves to post her second shutout of the season and fifth of her career. She turned away an early attempt from Lindsey Kong in the 12th minute and another from Alexis Breer in the 68th. Ingadottir has now made multiple saves in five straight appearances and has held opponents under two goals in four consecutive outings.

The back line, led by Lazzara, and seniors Abby Morrow and Elle Sparks, held the Bruins to only four second-half shots after facing early pressure. Senior defender Sophie Rossier and first-year Kaedance Stubbs shared minutes in the backfield.
