MARSHALL, Texas — Lewis & Clark College men's basketball used a dominant second-half performance to defeat East Texas Baptist University 82-63 on Sunday afternoon at Ornelas Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior
Andre Treadwell continued his strong nonconference stretch, scoring 20 or more points for the sixth straight game and for the seventh time in the first nine contests. Treadwell led the River Otters with 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting and added eight rebounds.
Juniors
Kody Uyesugi and
Yigit Arcan followed in scoring. Uyesugi tied his season high with 15 points and knocked down two 3-pointers. Arcan finished with 12 points and a career- and team-high nine rebounds, falling one rebound shy of a double-double. Sophomore
Marcus Bast added 10 points and one assist.
Lewis & Clark held a 23–19 lead at halftime as both teams struggled to find rhythm offensively. The River Otters shot 34.5 percent from the field and missed all nine of their 3-point attempts in the opening half.
The second half opened with a decisive shift. Lewis & Clark began the period on a 6–0 run to extend its lead to 29–19 less than 90 seconds in. Junior
Joe Brown (seven points, three assists) assisted Bast on a layup at 19:43, then followed with a jumper at 19:05. Senior
Taien Jackson capped the run by converting two free throws after being fouled on a drive, giving the River Otters their first double-digit lead.
East Texas Baptist answered with a 14–8 run to close within 35–33 with 15:05 remaining. After neither team made a 3-pointer in the first half, Brown and Bast each connected from long range during the stretch. Treadwell responded with a 3-pointer at 13:58, assisted by Brown, to push the lead back to five.
Treadwell scored 21 of his 25 points after halftime, including 12 consecutive points for Lewis & Clark between the 8:23 and 6:16 marks. His 3-pointer with 7:28 remaining extended the lead to 63–51, and the River Otters maintained a double-digit margin the rest of the way.
Arcan sealed the result with the final two baskets of the game, converting a second-chance layup for a 20-point lead and adding a jumper off a turnover with 22 seconds remaining to set the final score.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The teams combined to go 0-for-19 from beyond the arc in the first half.
- Lewis & Clark shot 64.5 percent from the field in the second half and 56.3 percent from 3-point range.
