Three Women's Swimmers Take Home All-Conference Awards

Senior Elise Barton and junior Angie Cummings each took home multiple All-Conference honors for the second-straight year

HILLSBORO, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College women's swimming seniors Elise Barton and Aniqah Gaffoor and junior Angie Cummings combined to earn five All-Conference awards at the 2026 Northwest Conference Championship Meet in Boise. 
 
Barton and Cummings each won multiple All-Conference awards for the second-straight season. Gaffoor collected her first All-Conference award since her first season and the fourth of her collegiate career. Women's swimming recorded five All-Conference performances for a second-straight season. 
 
Swimmers who finished first through third in their individual events took home First Team All-Conference honors. Swimmers who placed fourth through eighth garnered Second Team All-Conference plaudits. 
 
Barton earned the first, First Team All-Conference award of her collegiate career and two total All-Conference honors. The senior placed a career-best third overall in the 100 Free. In the prelims, she finished second out of 48 swimmers with a PR time of 53.68. She broke her PR in the event by 0.18 seconds in the Prelims and moved up to eighth all-time in program history in the event. In the A Final, she touched the wall in 54.53 to finish in third place. Barton earned Second Team honors in the 200 Free for a second-straight season. After finishing in seventh place as a junior, Barton took fourth overall at her final collegiate NWC Championship Meet. She notched a season-best time in the prelims (1:58.47) to place fourth. In the A Final, Barton shaved off an additional 0.10 seconds to finish in fourth (1:58.37). The Colorado native closes out her career with five career All-Conference honors: 2x 100 and 200 Free, 1x 50 Free. 
 
Cummings earned a pair of All-Conference honors in the backstroke for a second-straight season. She put together a career-best fourth-place showing in the 100 Back. The junior took third place in the prelims with a season-best mark of 1:00.58. Cummings shaved off 0.33 second in the A Final to place fourth in the 100 Backstroke. She added a Second Team All-Conference showing in the 200 Backstroke. The California native placed fifth in the prelims with a time of 2:16.51. She came across in sixth place in the A Final with a mark of 2:16.51. In two collegiate seasons, Cummings has earned four All-Conference honors: 2x 100 and 200 Backstroke. 
 
Gaffoor closed out her collegiate career with her fourth All-Conference honors. She made her first A Final since her first season when she placed fourth in the 100 Fly Prelims. Her time of 58.48 in the Prelims was her best time in the event since her first season. She finished the A Final in 59.07 to take seventh overall. Gaffoor wraps up her career with a pair of All-Conference honors in the 100 Fly and the program record (57.84) in the event. She also garnered All-Conference honors in the 200 Fly and 50 Free in 2023.
