Alicia Scoggin joined the River Otters coaching staff in the summer of 2026 and began working with the program ahead of the 2026-27 season.
A Portland native, Scoggin brings more than two decades of coaching experience at the high school, club and community levels, primarily in the Portland area. She most recently served as the head junior varsity coach and a varsity assistant coach at Benson High School in the Portland Interscholastic League. She held the same role at Reynolds High School in Troutdale during the 2024-25 season.
At the club level, Scoggin coached elite AAU basketball for the Team Lillard Foundation, working with players ages 11-17 on skill development and tournament competition. She also coached youth camps and clinics for the WNBA's Portland Fire and spent nearly five years as a youth coach and community outreach coordinator with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Since 2023, Scoggin has coached youth players through the University of Oregon basketball program and has led camps and clinics for Pro Camps in cities across the West Coast, including sessions with NBA players. She also served as a lead coach at the Damian Lillard Camp for five years.
Away from the court, Scoggin serves on the Her Voice Council, an advisory board organized by Raj Sports to advance women's sports and promote gender equity in Portland.
Scoggin graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in sociology and criminology and a minor in business administration.
