Junior Malia Heien anchored Lewis & Clark's 4x400-meter relay team to a first-place finish and posted a season-best time in the 800 meters at the L&C Larry Byerly Invite on Saturday. Heien crossed the finish line first and helped the team clock the third-fastest time in program history (4:00.04), defeating NCAA Division I Seattle University by over three seconds. The 4x400M Relay team moved up to #38 in the NCAA DIII this season. In the 800 meters, Heien finished third overall as the top collegiate finisher with a time of 2:13.58, just 0.27 seconds off her own program record.
