PORTLAND, Ore. -- Lewis & Clark College women's tennis fell to Whitman College 7-0 in Northwest Conference play on Sunday afternoon at the L&C Tennis Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Whitman secured the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Gloria Lau and Julia Longpre opened with a 6-2 win over sophomore
Anna English and junior
Emma Loucks at No. 3. Renata Rosell and Nana Vang followed with a 6-3 decision over senior
Susanna Anand and junior
Charlotte Makoni at No. 1. Bailey Bell and Sascha Wells closed doubles with a 6-2 win over junior
Maya Curry and first-year
Alex Mignogna at No. 2.
Whitman claimed all six singles courts. Rosell recorded the first finished result with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Makoni at No. 2. Wells defeated English 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3, and Bell topped Curry 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4 to give the Blues a 4-0 lead and clinch the match.
Anand pushed Vang to three sets at No. 1 singles. She dropped the first set 6-4 but responded with a 6-2 second-set win to force a super tiebreaker. Vang edged Anand 11-9 in the deciding breaker.
Madi Vianzon also extended her match at No. 6 to three sets. Vianzon won the opening-set tiebreaker 7-6 (7-3) over Natalie Cruz, but Cruz took the second set 6-2 and the super tiebreaker 10-3.
Lau completed the sweep with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Mignogna at No. 5.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Anand fell to 6-1 in dual-match singles this season after her three-set loss at No. 1.
