Austin Dunham enters his first season at Lewis & Clark, where he will take over coordination of the River Otters' pitching staff. A native Oregonian, Dunham returns to his home state in the Fall of 2026, after a journey that has taken him from coast-to-coast.
After his playing career was cut short due to a shoulder injury as a freshman at Chemeketa College, Dunham transferred to the University of Oregon and served as the baseball team's bullpen catcher. In that role, Dunham was able to learn from one of the top pitching minds in the country in Jason Dietrich.
Following his time as a Duck, Dunham relocated to Vermont, where he worked in the University of Vermont athletic department for two years. He then spent the last five years as a special education instructor in the Fountain-Ft. Carson High School in Fountain, Colorado. While there, Dunham served as the pitching coach at Ft. Carson High School, and also spent a summer as the pitching coach for the Inland Valley Pirates in the California Premiere Collegiate League and for the Anchorage Bucs in the Alaskan Collegiate Baseball League.
Dunham, who now serves as a special education assistant at Lakeridge High School, resides in Happy Valley, Oregon, with his wife Allison.
