PORTLAND, Ore. – All seven Lewis & Clark College women's basketball players who saw action on Thursday night contributed to the scoring effort, but NAIA Multnomah University pulled away in the second half for a 68-47 non-conference victory at Pamplin Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Sophomore
Lauryn Frederickson led Lewis & Clark with 12 points and nine rebounds. Juniors
Madelyn Sanchez and
Tatiana Rebanal followed Frederickson with eight and seven points, respectively. Sanchez had two blocks against the Lions, while Frederickson and Rebanal each dished out three assists.
DJ Kendrick contributed four points and eight rebounds, while fellow sophomores
Divinity Singleton and
Madilyn Palosi added five points each. Palosi finished with four rebounds, an assist and a steal. Singleton had three rebounds, two assists and a block for Lewis & Clark.
First-year
Isabella Bernard pulled down a career-high seven boards and tied her career-best with six points.
The Pioneers kept pace early, trailing just 8-7 after a defensive first quarter where both teams struggled to find rhythm offensively. The last point scored by either team in the first quarter came at 2:29 with a layup from Sanchez.
Frederickson ended the over four-minute drought with a layup in the paint to give Lewis & Clark a 9-8 lead early in the second quarter. The sophomore hit a three at 6:16 to tie the game at 17-all, and Kendrick tied it over a minute later at 19-19. Multnomah extended their advantage with an 11-7 run to close out the second quarter, taking a 30-26 lead into halftime.
After the break, the Lions found their shooting touch, particularly from three-point range. The game's leading scorer, Jersey Huerta, scored 10 of her 28 points to help Multnomah outscore the Pioneers 18-8 in the third quarter and build a 48-34 advantage.
Despite Lewis & Clark's efforts to close the gap in the fourth quarter, the Lions maintained their momentum and did not let the Pioneer get any closer than 13 points to secure the victory.

- The Pioneers matched up well inside, nearly equaling Multnomah in points in the paint (22-20).
- Frederickson's team-high 9.0 rebounds per game is tied for second in the Northwest Conference.
- Kendrick is first on the team with nine assists and second with 28 total rebounds and a 7.0 average per game.
