PORTLAND, Ore. -- Lewis & Clark College women's tennis fell to Whitworth University 6-1 in Northwest Conference play on Saturday afternoon at the L&C Tennis Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior
Susanna Anand recorded the River Otters' only point of the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.
The River Otters dropped all three doubles courts to fall behind 1-0 entering singles. Juniors

Emma Loucks fell 6-1 to Paige Oliver and Jordan Turner-Esposito at No. 2 in the first completed match of the round. Anand and junior

Alex Mignogna dropped a 6-4 decision to Olivia Corbett and Audrey Judson at No. 3 to close the round.
Anand answered at No. 1 singles with the quickest result of the afternoon, defeating Oliver 6-2, 6-0 to level the overall score at 1-1.
Lewis & Clark could not find another point from the remaining five courts. English fell to Turner-Esposito 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3, and Curry dropped a three-set match to Judson at No. 4, winning the second set 6-4 before falling 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. Makoni pushed Kert to three sets at No. 2 with a second-set win but lost the deciding set 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-0, giving Whitworth the clinching fourth point.
Loucks fell to Josie Kellogg 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6. Mignogna lost a competitive first set at No. 5 before Corbett closed out a 7-6, 6-2 win for the 6-1 final.
