Baseball Earns ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award For Fourth-Straight Year

The River Otters have been recognized in eight of the past nine seasons by the ABCA

GREENSBORO, N.C.—For the fourth-straight season, Lewis & Clark College College baseball received the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award presented by Sports Attack, the ABCA announced on Wednesday morning. 
 
The River Otters earned the award for a fourth-straight season and eighth time in nine years under head coach Matt Kosderka. Baseball has posted a pair of four-year streaks from 2017-2021 and 2023-2026 under the ninth-year head coach. 
 
To qualify for the award, programs must post a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 for the academic year. Baseball finished the 2025-26 school year with a 3.53 GPA. The program has now posted a GPA of 3.35 or higher in 15 consecutive semesters and a GPA of 3.5 or higher in six-straight semesters.
 
The River Otters were one of six Northwest Conference teams to be recognized by the ABCA.
