PORTLAND, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College cross country head coach
Chris Reed announced the 10 new members of the program this afternoon.
The River Otters added five runners on both the men's and women's teams. The student-athletes hail from six different states with multiple student-athletes coming to Palatine Hill from Oregon, California and Alaska.
Men's Incoming Class
"We are excited about the new men who are joining the cross country squad: Five guys representing four states, all with very different training backgrounds," Reed noted. "They have added a lot to the energy of the group already, and they all have great careers ahead of them."
Dylan McGuirk – Salem, Ore.
Attended West Salem High School ... Competed in cross country and track & field for all four years ... Earned First Team All-Conference honors in cross country as a senior and Second Team accolades as a sophomore ... Named Academic All-State three times ... Member of the varsity cross country team for all four years and the varsity track & field team for three years ... Helped lead the Titans to the Central Valley Conference Title in cross country and track & field three times each ... Father Matt ran cross country and track & field at the University of Oregon (NCAA DI) and went on to run professionally ... Member of the track & field team at Lewis & Clark.
Tait Ostrom – Homer, Alaska
Attended Homer High School ... Competed in cross country, track & field and nordic skiing for all four years in high school ... Won the Alaska Division 2 Cross Country Championship as a senior ... Won the Division 2 300M Hurdles State Championship in 2026 ... Led the 4x800M Relay Team to a first-place finish at the Alaska State Championships as a junior and senior ... Finished first in the Division 2 Nordic Ski State Championship in 2025 ... Member of the track & field team at Lewis & Clark.
Nico Rossini – San Rafael, Calif.
Attended San Rafael High School ... Competed in cross country for four years and track & field for three years ... Member of the track & field team at Lewis & Clark.
Ukiah Moon Steury – Portland, Ore.
Attended Franklin High School ... Earned the Most Improved Award on the cross country team as a senior ... Won the Dog Award as a junior ... Named to the honor roll for all four years ... Member of the track & field team at Lewis & Clark.
Noah Zweers – Longmont, Colo.
Attended Silver Creek High School ... Competed in cross country for four years and track & field for three years ... Qualified for the Cross Country State Championship Meet as a junior ... Member of the varsity cross country team his junior and senior seasons and the track & field varsity team his sophomore and junior years ... Named the team captain for cross country his junior and senior seasons ... Member of the track & field team at Lewis & Clark.
Women's Incoming Class
"Like the men, we have five new women, also representing four states," Reed said. "We have been together for about a week, and it's evident that a few of the first-years are going to make a big impact right away. We are young, but the maturity and enthusiasm our new women have brought so far is very impressive."
Zoe Benton – Missoula, Mont.
Attended Hellgate High School ... Earned a spot on the All-State Team for cross country as a junior (3rd place) and senior (6th place) ... Named to the Academic All-State Team for her final three years ... Placed seventh in the 3,000M at Divisionals as a senior ... Selected to the Academic All-State Team for track & field as a first year, sophomore and junior ... Member of the track & field team at Lewis & Clark.
Allison Chapman – Pleasanton, Calif.
Attended Foothill High School ... Ran track & field for four years at Foothill ... Earned medalist honors at the North Coast Section (NCS) Championship in the 800M, 4x400M Relay and 4x800M Relay ... Competed at Nike Outdoor Track & Field Nationals as a senior in the 800M, 4x400M and 4x800M Relay ... Took first place in the 4x800M Relay at Nike Outdoor Nationals ...
