MOLALLA, Ore.—Four Lewis & Clark College men's golfers finished in the top-10, but both teams slipped a spot in the team standings, on the second and final day of the George Fox University Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First year
Trae Fredrickson placed sixth overall to lead men's golf across the two-day tournament. The first year beat his career-low tournament score by four strokes to finish first among 11 Lewis & Clark players. Fredrickson carded a 73 (+2) on Monday and a 74 (+3) on Tuesday, to finish with a two-day score of 147 (+5).
Sophomores
Joonho Moon and
Charlie Hageman and junior
Luke Blankinship all placed tied for seventh to lead the "A Team." The trio each finished the tournament with a 148 (+6).
Moon notched the lowest round on the team on Tuesday. He posted four birdies and the team's lone eagle of the week, to notch an even-par 71. Hageman registered a 77 (+6) and Blankinship carded a 76 (+5). Both players overcame a tough front-nine to right the ship over the final five-plus holes.
First year
Nate Loew placed second on the "B Team" for the tournament and tied for 19
th overall. The first year notched a 78 (+7) on Tuesday to finish with a 151 (+9) overall.
Sophomore
Tanner Moody and junior
Kenji Pickeral wrapped up the tournament in a tie for 32
nd place with a score of 155 (+13). Moody posted the second-lowest round on the "A Team" on Tuesday with a 75 (+4). Pickeral was even better, as he recorded a score of 74 (+3) to tie for first on the "B Team." Both players made massive improvements from Day One to Day Two with Pickeral shaving off seven strokes and Moody improving by five strokes.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Linfield University (+20) won the team title after shooting a 289 (+5) on Day Two. Pacific Lutheran University (+25) finished tied second after leading the field with a 286 (+2) on Tuesday. Whitworth University (+25) and host George Fox University (+27) placed tied for second and fourth ahead of Lewis & Clark "A" (+31).
- Whitworth's Matthew Durkin won a playoff over Pacific Lutheran's Koen Solis to win the individual title. The duo each finished the tournament with a score of 141 (-1).
- Lewis & Clark "A" wrapped up the tournament tied for first in birdies (30), eagles (one) and fewest bogeys (39).
- The "B Team" finished fourth in the field of 11 teams with a 4.97 average (-1) on Par 5s.
- Frederickson finished tied for first in the field with a 4.09 average (+2) on Par 4s.
- Blankinship placed tied for first in the field on Par 5s average (4.33, -4).
- Moon wrapped up the tournament tied for second in the field with a 2.88 average (-1) on Par 3s.
- Blankinship (eight), Hageman (seven), Moon (six) and Fredrickson (six) all finished in the top-10 in the field for birdies.
WHO'S NEXT
Lewis & Clark will head straight into the Northwest Conference Spring Classic on Saturday and Sunday. This year's tournament is being hosted by the University of Puget Sound at the Oakbrook Golf Club.
