NEW ORLEANS, Ore.—Women's track & field senior Elsie Chin and both men's and women's track & field teams were recognized as U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Track & Field All-Academic honorees, the USTFCCCA announced on Monday morning.
 
The men's and women's teams each qualified after both squads met the mark of posting at least a 3.1 cumulative team GPA. The women's team recorded a team GPA of 3.53 to earn the award for a 15th-straight season. The men's team were honored for the sixth-straight year and 12th time in 13 years - after registering a team GPA of 3.15.
 
Chin was recognized as a USTFCCCA NCAA DIII Track & Field All-Academic Athlete for the first time in her career. 
 
In order to be eligible, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher and must have finished the indoor or outdoor track & seasons ranked in the top 50 individuals in their event nationally.
 
Chin is a senior Biology major from Portland, Oregon. She capped off a stellar four-year career with a career season - that saw her earn her first three career All-Region honors and a trio of All-Conference awards. Chin finished 43^rd in NCAA DIII in the 400M Hurdles during the Outdoor Track & Field season. She posted a program-record setting time of 1:03.41 in the Finals at the Northwest Conference Championship Meet. With her record-setting time, she finished in third place and earned First Team All-Conference honors. Chin wraps up her career as the program record-holder in the Outdoor 400M Hurdles and Indoor 600M and ranks in the top-10 in the Indoor 400M (3^rd), 200M (8^th) and 60M Hurdles (9^th) and the Outdoor 400M (6^th).
