PORTLAND, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College track & Field competed on their home track for the final time this season, when they competed at the Portland Twilight Meet on the Eldon and
David Fix Track.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The River Otters posted two top-25 marks in program history, three top-10 finishes and eight PRs in the final competition of the season for most of the competitors.
WOMEN'S RECAP
First year
Sofia Figueroa and junior
Callow Soto each notched top-25 marks in program history in the 400M Hurdles to lead women's track & field.
The duo placed fifth and sixth in the field in the 400M Hurdles. Figueroa shaved 1.21 seconds off her previous PR to come across in 1:09.69. Her time moved her up to 21
st place in program history. Soto competed in a hurdles event for the first time in her career on Saturday. She crossed the line in 1:10.16. Her time is the 22
nd-fastest mark in school history.
Junior
Carolyn Mayberry added a PR time in the 200M. The junior registered a PR time of 28.58 to placed 10
thout of 15 competitors. Mayberry's time was a PR by 0.18 seconds.
Five Lewis & Clark runners competed in the 800M. Junior
Mackenzie Olver led the quintet with a time of 2:33.79 to place 34
th. Sophomore
Maeva Conroy came in just behind her. Conroy notched a time of 2:04.03 to finish in 35
th. Mayberry posted her second PR of the day to place 36
th. The junior came across in 2:36.21 to beat her PR by 4.80 seconds. Sophomore
Talia Tomhave shaved 4.05 seconds off her PR to come across in 2:36.52 (37
th place). First year
Katherine Scannell closed out her first season with a mark of 2:41.96 to finish in 38
th place.
MEN'S RECAP
Junior
Emil Miller posted a trio of PRs and seniors
Theron Plumb and
Joseph Naylor competed for the final time in their careers at Griswold Stadium.
Junior
Evan Markelz led a quintet of River Otters in the 5,000M. The Northwest Conference Champion in the event posted a season-best time of 14:43.62 to place 12
th out of 54 runner. His time was the second-best of his career. Plumb placed second on the team and 43
rd overall with a time of 16:16.30. Junior
Jordan Wu crossed the line in 16:38.90 to place 48
th. Naylor registered a time of 17:04.28 to finish in 50
th place. First year
Knox Orchard rounded out the group by placing 51
st with a time of 17:36.76. Plumb and Naylor both competed on Saturday night after graduating at Lewis & Clark's Commencement earlier in the day.
Miller, who typically competes in middle and long distance events, represented Lewis & Clark in the 200M. The junior finished 14
th overall with a time of 25.96 – in his first ever collegiate attempt at the event.
Miller also led Lewis & Clark in the 800M. He came across in 2:00.43 to finish 48
th out of 66 competitors. Miller's time was a PR by 4.37 seconds. First year
Forrest Holt moved up from the 400M to the 800M and notched a time of 2:07.72. He placed 61
st in his first time competing at the distance at the collegiate level.
Miller opened his busy day with the 1,500M. He crossed the line in 4:05.04 to place 29
th out of 54 runners. His time was the second-best of his career.

Lewis & Clark will send a small contingent of competitors to the George Fox Last Chance Meet on Thursday.
